This is part 3 of the 3-part course on inclusive education. It is a 3 month certificated program with classes on Sundays. Only graduates of parts 1 and 2 are eligible to register for this course.
This course focuses on the role of a special educator in the general education setting. How does a special educator form the collegial relationships needed to seamlessly work with general educators in mainstream schools? How and where does the special educator bring his/her depth of knowledge to bear in order to support a student to success in mainstream education? How does one write an IEP goal that can be implemented in a mainstream class? How does score analysis help with coming up with recommendations that can be helpful for the mainstream teacher?
Special education support in an inclusive setting involves helping a student to succeed in the mainstream. Specialized teacher skills are instrumental in this success. This course delves deep into inclusion – inclusion for everybody.
