This is part 2 of the 3-part course on inclusive education. Only graduates of part 1, Inclusive Teaching Principles, are eligible to register for this course. It is a a 5 month certificated program leading to certification in Inclusive Teaching Methods. Classes are held on Sundays. This course delves into the ‘how’ of inclusive education. ‘Now that we have a heterogeneous group of students, how do I teach each of them effectively?’
Candidates will gain better understanding on how the principles of inclusion are applied in the classrooms with specific methodologies. Teaching strategies in various subject areas such as Reading, Writing, Math, Science, Social Science and Art will be included in order to demonstrate how a heterogeneous group of students can learn in a cohesive manner in an inclusive classroom.
The goal of this course is to provide educators with the toolkit needed to teach a diverse group of students in their own classrooms.
